with Halloween right around the corner, i've managed to finish my costume a month in advance....so now i'm working on my costume for next year!
This is Boba Fett's EE-3 carbine rifle.
So here is the brake down, i bought this toy gun (top left) at the NY comicon, and of course, though the shape is correct, if shaken in front of a child, it could produce a seizure. so i've painted it the proper colors! i decided to leave the logo on the butt of stock of the gun cause i kinda like it....i left the orange trigger cause if i'm going to bars, i don't want to get hassled. i painted it black, then went over it with a silver ink sharpie, giving it that worn effect. other then painting this item, i've also sanded down all the toy company logos, and disclaimers. no one whants a gun to have giant writing indicating not to point it at others....OF COURSE IT'S GONNA BE POINTED AT OTHERS!!it doesn't even shoot anything, it just lights up!
you can see my Westar 34 side fire arm blaster here - [link] my jet pack - [link] Helmet - [link]
I'll start posting the rest of the costume as i get it done.
This looks pretty grande indeed So how exactly did you do it - you used Airbrush or anything similar or stuff like black acrylics or temperas? And the thing was plain black before you used the sharpie on those edges?
Is that actually a blue tone on that last photo or is it just the light?
its just the lighting. i used enamel black spray paint(that way i didn't need a primer) over its ugly bright green orange and gey(a light grey) colors. then i used a silver ink sharpie to put in the nicks and scratches. i was thinking of putting a light coat of grey or brown over it to give it that even "older feel" but after drawing on the sharpie action, i really liked the outcome, so i left it as is.
I see Well, it turned out nice enough A brown tone might have given a more rusty image, but would have ruined the cool impresseion from my point of view.
lol, thanks!, i seriously wish i could just walk around town with it everyday!, that, and my helmet....shame the world isn't as cool as the one in my mind...
most impressive XD
